Elegant Pinkish Vanilla High Low Hem Dress

It’s been a while since I last drew something. I find it hard to imagine something different and put it on paper. Gaaah! But practice makes perfect, right? I need to have patience.

Last month I received a [belated] birthday gift from a friend: a set of Copic Sketch Markers. Wooooh! I’ve seen a lot of fashion illustration tutorials and most of the artists/illustrators recommended copic markers. I wanted to buy a set but they’re really expensive. I’m so thankful that I received these markers. I don’t have to buy some for the meantime haha.

One of the colors in this set is “Pinkish Vanilla”. I couldn’t think of a name for my dress sketch so I just named it after the marker color I used. Tada!

Materials used:
Copic Sketch Markers (E0000, R01, RV00)
Faber-Castell Watercolor Pencils
Ordinary Drawing Book
Mechanical Pencil
Stabilo point 88 Pen

I actually drew this for my mom. She asked me to design a simple elegant dress for her because she had to attend a formal event. I only gave her the draft. That time, I had no idea what color I should use. That was two months ago. It was only now that I gave time to finish this neglected drawing (sorry). But now it’s done. I don’t need to post the draft :D

Oh I didn’t draw the shoes. My main focus was the dress (rather I’m too lazy to draw the shoes haha).

Hello, I’m so encouraged and inspired seeing your sketches. I’m a beginner too but I have no idea how to put outfits on my fashion figures, they always come out weird. Any tips?? Thanks

Hello dear :) i’m so glad that I somehow inspired others through my sketches.
Tips? Just watch (or read) tutorials and keep on practicing until you find your own style of sketching. Some tutorials might work for you, some might not. But don’t give up :) Practice is the key.
