Review: Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Light Lotion [Sponsored] plus FREE samples!

How do you like the Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion? Is it good? Are you satisfied? Yes? No? What? Some say they would like the consistency to be lighter, less oily-feel on the skin. Well, guess what? Hada Labo has heard you! They now released a lighter version of the original SHA Hydrating Lotion – just add “light”! Wish granted! :)

Wait, you don’t know what the Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion is? It’s not actually a lotion you apply all over your body. It’s a toner for the face. Lotion = Toner (?). Well, for the Hada Labo products, that is the case. The Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion has the following benefits:

  • Instantly hydrates skin and helps preserve its optimum moisture balance.
  • Replenishes and locks-in moisture for complete hydration. Skin feels significantly soft and supple.
  • Helps improve dry and dehydrated skin, leaving it silky smooth.
  • Skin pH balanced. Low irritation.
  • Free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant.

So basically, the Hada Labo SHA Hydrating LIGHT Lotion is just the lighter version of the Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion in terms of consistency but they have the same benefits :) Oh and by the way, it’s one of the most best selling beauty product in Japan and in Singapore.

So, what can I say about it?

EK Media and Sample Store sent me an actual size bottle of the Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Light Lotion (ooooh, nice Sample Store packaging) for me to try and share my thoughts.

Packaging is simple as always. You might mistake it for the original bottle though (specially if you’re too lazy to read). But if you look closely, you’ll notice that the light version of the best selling Hada Labo series has green text and bars on it.

There’s an english version sticker at the back of the bottle. If you bought a bottle in Japan and can’t read Japanese, this picture might come in handy :D

Here’s the light lotion compared to the other lotion of Hada Labo. Tada! I like the packaging of the light version better. It’s more relaxing to the eyes because of the hints of green color.

The Hada Laba SHA Hydrating Lotion and the Light version bottles side by side. Do you see how they are different from each other (not the size, okay?). Now you have no reason to get confused which is which, haha.

Like the Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion, the Light lotion is also colorless and odorless. You will notice that they look the same just by looking at their appearances.

But the Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Light Lotion looks and feels more like water. It has a less oily-feel compared to the original lotion and the skin absorbs it faster when you pat this solution on your face. And it doesn’t feel sticky at all. So the Light lotion is more suited for people with oily and acne prone skin. But of course this can be used by normal skin types as well. It really depends on your preference. But I like both of them. I use the original lotion at night as its thicker liquid texture will hydrate skin more thoroughly. I use the light version by day so I feel refreshed all day long :)

Oh wait, I forgot to mention that you can now use cotton pads! The Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Light Lotion helps removes impurities as well. Just soak a cotton pad with the SHA Light Lotion and sweep in an upward and outward motion.

Price

The price is quite reasonable. The big bottle is worth SGD 22.90 and for now it is only available in Watsons. One bottle can last a long time (you only need 3 drops if you don’t use a cotton pad) so it’s worth it.
