I stumbled upon another public invitation posted on Shiseido Singapore’s Facebook page. Since they also released a holiday palette, they decided to have a Color Party at Tangs Orchard. (Read on and watch out for the makeover giveaway!).

As seen in the invitation, all you need to do is sign up with a friend and RSVP to receive an exclusive door gift. I was trying to look anywhere if this was also a PAID so-called party or what. There was nothing there that indicated that I had to purchase something to be able to join. So I signed up with a friend.
The party was only held at Shiseido’s counter located in Tangs Orchard. There are no doors within the Shiseido area so passers by could also see what was happening during the event. I went to the registration table with my BFF and we received the door gift right away (no kidding!).
Food and beverages were served, by the way. Juices served were of different colors to go well with the event.
All participants who registered were asked to choose which of the looks [laid on the table] were their favorite. I actually thought that they will be doing the makeover on the day of the event to everyone who registered. But I was wrong. They let us choose one look out of the six to check which looks were the top three favorites. Then these top three favorites will be demonstrated by Brian, Shiseido’s makeup artist, using the Eye Color Bar and the Limited Edition Brush Set.
They didn’t have default models for the demonstration but instead, they chose models among the ladies who registered. Guess what? One of the chosen ones was me, haha.
Brian put on the base makeup (foundation, powder, eyebrow pencil) before the demonstration.
The event started with an explanation of the Shiseido’s Eye Color Bar for the holiday 2013. The palette has nine colors (some very bold and some very pale) which you can combine and play with. Since I am not doing a review (I am not a makeup guru), I won’t go deeper into that. All I can say: the colors are beautiful and I love the small packaging.
Then they revealed which looks were the top three favorites. The winners were:
Brian chose me for the “Notorious” look. He applied the eyeshadow, mascara and blush but only on the right side of my face (so demonstration was faster), haha.
The next look was “Slumber”. It’s a subtle look using the colors cassis, licorice and champagne. I think this is better for everyday wear.
Next was the “Sweet Love” look. It’s a look where a shade of green and a shade of purple is combined. It’s kind of unusual for these two colors to be together. So I think this look is for people who are not afraid to play with colors and be unique :) I actually chose this look during the registration.
After the demonstration, Brian also put on makeup on the left side of all the models’ faces. He complimented that purple suits me well, hehe.
Shiseido Eye Color Bar is available at all Shiseido counters for S$80.
